Jake & Amos Lime Pickles are made with an Amish style process that gives us a glimpse back to the good ol’ days of the Pennsylvania Dutch Country. The "lime" used in the process is a food grade version of what was used for making white-wash, plaster, and spreading on the fields. Our forefathers probably didn't know the science behind the preservation process. But they did know that what they created was a very crisp, green pickle with a delightfully dry, sweet balance.

My mom has been lamenting not being able to find lime pickles anywhere. So I ordered these for her to try. Her first reaction was that they're too green. Then she tasted one and got a surprised look on her face. "The taste is right!" They taste like the ones my grandma used make and can. We have the recipe, but none of us want to spend the several days required to produce them. Definitely worth buying these for a treat.

My mom used to make lime pickles when I was a kid. They were the only pickles I liked. The ones I order taste just like the ones my mom made. I love them!!

These are the only sweet pickles my husband will eat and they taste just like his mama’s canned lime pickles she made from her garden cucumbers.

These are some of the best pickles I’ve ever tasted. Excellent crunch and delicious out of the jar, on a burger, or the brine in deviled eggs.

These are so good! Remind me of my mom canning lime pickles when I was a girl! It took several days for the process!
